Janina (Crysdale) Ganton travelled to Kenya on a volunteer field placement through the Global Youth Network where she worked with non-governmental organizations to build communities and help support orphaned children whose parents died of AIDS. After graduation, Ganton won the Meloche Monnex Fellowship in Advancement and now works in Alumni Relations at Laurier, where she won the 2010 Rising Star Award from the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education.
